The division brought me in to facilitate a strategic planning session to develop a three year plan as well as specific goals and objectives goals for the coming year. During the offsite retreat, a conflict between two of the directors erupted. With my understanding of conflict and organizational issues, I assisted them in uncovering the structural flaws within the division – the overlapping roles and responsibilities that the two had been given – that had created the conflict. This enabled the division to address the underlying problems so that the strategic planning effort could move forward effectively.
